John Marshall Offers its Intellectual Property Law MS and LLM Degrees Online

(PRWEB) March 02, 2012

The John Marshall Law School in Chicago is using the latest in academic technology to develop traditional law courses into online advanced law degrees for those with a growing interest in learning outside the traditional classroom. John Marshall is expanding its online MS and LLM degree programs to include Intellectual Property Law. John Marshalls online education platform, eCourses, offers flexibility to take law courses anytime, anywhere.

The MS and LLM in Intellectual Property Law give lawyers and professionals opportunities for learning that they otherwise may not have, said Professor Robert J. Nye, director of distance education, who has been studying various teaching formats for a decade. Weve seen that professionals dont always have to be in a classroom to learn. I think its an exciting model, he said.

The online MS and LLM in Intellectual Property Law offer a range of copyright, trademark and patent courses. The John Marshall Intellectual Property Program is ranked 20th in the country by U.S. News and World Report. For more than 70 years the program has been a pioneer in IP law, and offers one of the largest course selections in the United States.

John Marshalls eCourses are offered on an asynchronous basis. Graduate students sign onto their online class websites to interact with their professor and fellow classmates using chat, discussion boards and email.

Students enjoy several advantages, including: added assessment during the semester (unlike traditional law courses that tend to depend on one final exam); classes that can be watched several times to help students absorb the material; and individual and group assignments, quizzes, downloadable lectures and weekly chats that allow the professor to engage the students in their law course material while providing them the flexibility to take their classes anytime, anywhere.
