Question by dowagiac.michigan: own the company i work for has given me a contract, that states, they own all of my inventions and or ideas?
i have been trying to avoid signing it , now they told me this time i have to turn it in with my insuance papers, if i sing it they own all of my ideas, inventions, seem like me too! they put it all together with their confidential information and proprietary right agreement contract, so the way i guess i see it , if I invent anything they own it? hell no!! i not going to turn it in again, and see what they do,hope they miss it, if not i have to quit i guess, i need a job, but i also need to know if i get some off the wall idea, i own it. what do you think about it. how can they do that, and can they fire me?

My father-in-law invented many drugs that are sold over the counter in the cough and cold aisle. He of course would not have gotten the job without signing a contract like that too.
He makes no money off the products he invented. He received a salary to invent them for those companies.
You will not get the job without the contract most likely.
